10 Days in Uzbekistan: The Perfect First-Time Itinerary

Planning your first trip to Uzbekistan? 10 days is, in my opinion, the perfect amount of time to spend. Get started on your planning with this itinerary.

The Heart of the Silk Road

Uzbekistan is one of the world’s fastest growing tourist destinations. If you’re on social media, you’ve probably noticed a surge in reels and videos urging you to go visit this Central Asian country. While I normally loathe the idea of doing anything just because it’s hot on Instagram, there’s no denying they’re onto something.

It’s a country where the ancient Silk Roads meets the more recent Soviet history, with mosaic-covered mosques alongside brutalist concrete blocks. One minute you’ll feel like you’re on the set of Aladdin, the next you’ll be on a high speed train barrelling towards the capital.

Of all my travels, Uzbekistan is somewhere that’s really stuck with me, and kept me going back to Central Asia again and again.

Still trying to decide whether or not to book those flights?

My Uzbekistan for first timers article will give you a good overview of what to expect.

If you’re a fellow vegan traveller, then I’ll be blunt with you: It’s not the easiest country in the world to travel when you’ve got dietary restrictions. However, even though it’ll be more of a challenge, it’s still one of the most extraordinary and unexpected countries I’ve ever been to. It’s one of those times in life that the juice is very much worth the squeeze.

If you’re worried about it, or want a snapshot of what it’s like from someone who’s been there, this article has you covered.
