Why I Started This Travel Blog

Hey, I’m Laura. I’m from Dublin, Ireland, but live in London with my husband and our two cats. I’ve worked in tech for over a decade, but love to travel as much as I can.

Because of that, I often find myself having conversations with friends about places we’ve been, sharing recommendations, stories and tips. I love these conversations – thinking back on my own travels makes me happy, and hearing the excitement of others is always a joy. I’ve typed out so many long WhatsApp messages, shared Notion pages, and sent links and decided I wanted somewhere that could serve as a bit of an archive for all the things I’ve seen, done, and recommend.

For a while, that archive was my Instagram account, but recently, I’ve found myself getting more and more disillusioned with social media, especially the ads and the clickbait. So here we are, with a personal travel blog.

Aside from being my online archive, it’s also a fun hobby for me. I’ve got two bachelor’s degrees: one in journalism and one in computer science. This blog gives me a chance to combine these interests, although I can’t promise anything worthy of the Pulitzer or Turing prize here.

What you can expect though are recommendations of hotels, travel tips, stories from my journeys, and plant-based food around the world. I’m lucky enough to have travelled a lot in my life, and I’ve got a lot to share. So whether you know me in real life, or you’ve stumbled across my corner of the internet – welcome!
